In spite of modern technology infiltrating our lives in so many ways, it may be surprising but also endearing that we have retained our love of paper diaries and calendars. A BBC report recently highlighted a five-fold increase in sales in calendar outlets in last year’s run-up to Christmas.
There may be plenty of online calendars to access and digital time-keeping tools or apps on our phones and iPads but it would appear we are traditionalists at heart and love to give and receive calendars and diaries as gifts. In fact a recent UCL study showed that 75% of people asked still use a paper diary on a daily basis.
Some of us may in fact use a variety of different date-keeping methods making us either extremely efficient or just a bit paranoid and even confused!
Picture wall or desk calendars as well as being used to brighten up an office, will also serve to reinforce your own company brand and product range. A whopping 84%* of promotional gift recipients say that receiving a branded product does increase their awareness of a brand and a desk calendar is the preferred item over a pen or calculator by 20%*. Desk diaries these days are packed full of really useful and fun information such as conversions, international dates and times, celebrity birthdays and entertaining quotes.
So, when all is said and done calendars and diaries make great corporate gifts, and now we are, gulp, already into the second half of the year it is the perfect time to be considering what to give your clients this Christmas.
