Junior Clerk Makes Steady Travel Through Ranks

I spent all my paid working life in an office environment.  Well apart from the first few which were as a junior travel agent.   My mother worked for the CEO of a small local travel company and apart from doing the general accounts work for them, she was also the private secretary for the CEO and was heavily involved in the preparations for a cultural and music festival held in Windsor each year – whilst her boss was part time Organmaster for HRH.  That side of it didn’t affect my work but it was nice to be on the fringe!  I worked on Saturdays first, then school holidays, doing the office junior role of filing paperwork and checking IATA and BR tickets for accuracy.  Then once I’d been taught to do ticketing myself, I was then taught to book business travel and cruises before being allowed to join the teams full time after leaving school.
